FAQ:
Why is it important that We crop the images from the normal workflow?
During the editing process, images are cropped for composition and size. Cropping from the original workflow allows us to back out of previous changes and crop intentionally for Instagram or other platforms. Cropping past the workflow gives us less flexibility and can greatly affect the balance of the image.
Do you crop every image?
The images are delivered in full frame which means they will need to be cropped for Instagram. Cropping and adjusting for Instagram across every photo can be excessive so I usually crop the ones we expect to use.
Can I share this webpage?
Yes, of course, share the URL as needed. However, users are able to save as on a photo. The photos on the webpage are not high resolution meant for download so I try to provide lots of warnings on this. We can also lock the page if you would like.
Can we review the RAW images?
Since RAW images are large and difficult to move around, we can review RAW that has been converted to JPEG. I recommend loading into a program like Narrative Select or similar to quickly sort through them as reviewing in a file share can take extra time per image which cumulative is significant.
Where are the cropped images?
Within the high resolution folder (link above) there is a folder for cropped images.
When will I be invoiced?
The invoice is generated once the specific project is closed out. This will go to the main POC unless there is another person who should receive it!
Where are legal documents hosted?
All of the legal documents are hosted in the client portal. Usually a link is in email or hosted on the main mood board. These include model releases, etc.
What’s the best way to provide feedback?
Please please provide feedback via form below, email, or verbally. This is important to my process and I always like to do a debrief following delivery to see where we can improve as a team, and I can improve as a photographer.
Is there anything else that you do for instagram?
Because of instagram compression, I will usually sharpen images with a mask. It’s a way to sharpen important edges so they look nice on Instagram. You can also add a global sharpening within the app. I can work with your social media team to export what works best for them. I have a blog post about this if you’d like to learn more.
Where are the images stored?
I keep copies of the RAW images indefinitely. I use the 3-2-1 method of 3 copies, 2 locations, 1 off site. I will retain the RAW file + Lightroom & Photoshop edits. Please also download the files from the file share and keep a copy yourself. Thank you!
