Common Questions
-
Short answer is 3 to 4 weeks is comfortable. To understand how quickly images can be turned around we can look at the various pieces of the workflow that present the largest bottleneck.
Planning - scheduling models, shipping brand products
Shooting - weather
Post Production - client image selection
At the root of it, we are still a group of creatives and we can get work completed on short notice, especially if our client is in a pinch.
However, it is super helpful to stay ahead on image needs so we can plan items in batches, and prepare for hurdles.
-
This is a good question because we indeed operate off of value, rather than time spent on set. We typically try to land in the 20 images range for a concept. Some images require more intense edits. Some concepts have a reoccurring edit that can be cumbersome (eg. changing hue on piece of clothing). When we launch a new project, we like to ask about the use because it helps us understand the layers of editing that is needed. (eg. A banner on a website may be more of a focal point and demand more attention.)
-
We issue invoices once a project is closed out (ie. images are delivered).
-
We use the 3-2-1 method of 3 copies, 2 locations, 1 off site. I will retain the RAW file + Lightroom & Photoshop edits indefinitely. We keep copies of the complete shoot of RAW images for about a year. When we deliver images, please download the formatted copies.
Tools we use with you
-
We manage production through Airtable and will provide you a login so you can monitor projects. This is where most of our projects details and assigned resources will live. You can also find links to other tools from Airtable so this is a good one to bookmark and return to.
-
We use Capture One for collaborating on photo selects, editing, and final delivery. After a shoot, we will share a link for easy viewing, tagging, commenting, etc.
-
We will host final deliverables here. You will have a folder that stays the same across projects (with each project in a separate folder). You can add the folder to your desktop or wherever it’s convenient for you to access.
-
Whenever we deliver a project, we will host it on clarkstinson.com with all of the necessary links easily accessible. You will have a page dedicated to your org with all the links you need. Just another location where we keep everything easily accessible because we know you have a lot of workflows to manage.
-
We use the Freeform app (native to iOS) for mood boards. You are welcome to participate in the mood board and will have access to it via Airtable. Each project will have a mood board. It is a working space so it's loosely oriented with unfinished ideas.

We currently use this for invoicing. Preference for payment is direct deposit or check. We can accept other forms of payment but some of them have fees associated such as credit card.
